2018 grants supported these local projects:

Beaver State Historical Gunmakers Guild will build an authentic historically correct replica of a Virginia style rifle, as it might have been when purchased by an early pioneer family traveling west in the 1850’s.  Upon completion the rifle will be put on display in the lobby of Prineville City Hall.

Prineville Music Theater Camp allows children from 7 to 15 years of age to gather together to practice and perform a musical play.  A true community collaboration between Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Crook County Parks & Recreation, and Crook County High School drama department, this partnership benefits the community by adding to its cultural offerings for both young and old.

Central Oregon Youth Development, Inc.’s mission is to enrich, mentor and educate youth through safe, positive, after school programs.  Their program, The Landing, provides free homework help, a free meal, and healthy activities for middle and high school aged kids.  “Landing around the world” is a 12-week program that will add lessons about cultural diversity to the existing programing schedule, focusing on culture, food and music from around the world.

Crook County Foundation’s Picnic In the Park, a free concert series now in its 14th season at Pioneer Park in downtown Prineville.  Seven Wednesday evenings in July and August with top-notch performances to broaden the cultural offerings in Crook County.  Approximately 400-600 people enjoy the music each week throughout the summer.
